rant
Have you ever got into your car in the best mood ever and just rolled the windows down, turned the music up as loud as you could and just lost yourself in the moment only to have some jerk driver completely turn your mood around? That happened to me today, it was not freezing when I woke up so when I got in my car I turned Jason Aldean (completely obsessed with him currently) and rolled down the windows a little to get a nice breeze going in the car and started my drive. Not even ten minutes into my drive some guy that probably left for work late tries to fit his car between me and the one to my right, he couldn't fit but that didn't stop him from trying anyway. So, he makes his way right in and pushing me almost off the road, I slam on my breaks and swerve to miss being hit, and does he do anything when I honk and angry scream in his direction? No, of course not! He just keeps on with his drive speeding off like nothing in the world just happened, like he did not just try and run me off the road. Almost instantly my mood was switched from being in a good mood to nothing but anger coursing through me. Well, my tai chi teacher has been teaching us that instead of yelling at someone and throwing your mood off you are supposed to Bless that person instead. My teacher explained that you have no idea why that person that cut you off is speeding and running. He explains that a family member could be in the hospital and he is rushing to get there, and since we don't realize why then we are supposed to Bless them instead. Well, I don't think that my teacher realizes how unsatisfying it is to bless someone when they are being jerks. It makes me feel a lot better that he did something rude to me so I equal it out by yelling and getting my anger and frustration out. However, while my way of doing things is most definitely satisfying, it is so not the thing to do. We all have the days where we are the person rushing and worried that we won't make it to something on time, I just need to learn to think of those moments when someone does the same thing to me.
